Can magnets inside electric motors be secured with super glue?

Super glue is a common household adhesive with versatile uses, such as repairing cracked sandals. But can it be used to secure magnets inside motors?

The answer is yes, but it's not commonly recommended.

While 502 instant adhesive can serve as a bonding agent for securing magnetic plates, it has drawbacks such as poor heat resistance and limited vibration resistance. Therefore, it's only suitable for small, low-power motors or temporary fixing scenarios.

For securing magnets inside motors, special considerations like heat resistance, vibration resistance, and corrosion resistance are essential. For these purposes, epoxy resin adhesives (typically withstanding temperatures above 150°C, offering strong bonding strength and excellent vibration resistance) or two-component structural adhesives (providing higher strength and durability, effectively resisting impact and vibration) are more recommended.

In summary, while 502 glue offers ease of use and rapid curing, its insufficient high-temperature resistance and vibration resistance make it inadequate for securing magnets in most motors. For motors operating in high-temperature, high-vibration environments or requiring long-term stable operation, alternative solutions such as epoxy resin adhesives, structural adhesives, or mechanical fasteners are recommended.
